From mini trinket dishes to wide statement centrepieces, every recycled glass bowl here is hand-blown and relaxed over its own piece of reclaimed Balinese wood, so the glass pools into the grain and sets in a shape all its own. Sizes run from small ring dishes to large fruit bowls, on natural, whitewashed or carved-stand bases.

Choosing a recycled glass bowl

By size. Mini and small bowls suit rings and keys. Medium bowls hold a few pebbles, a little pot pourri or the post by the door. Large and wide bowls are made to anchor a dining table, sideboard or console. Every listing gives approximate dimensions, so check them against the space you have in mind.

By base. Most bowls sit directly on their reclaimed wood, with the glass flowing into the timber. For more height, choose a glass bowl on a wooden stand: several are raised on their own stands or carved bases, including one cradled in a carved wooden hand. Whitewashed bases give a paler, softer look.

Are the bowls hand-blown?

Yes. Each bowl is hand-blown from recycled glass by artisans in Bali, then relaxed over reclaimed wood while the glass is still soft, which is why no two are ever the same.

Do any of the glass bowls come on a wooden stand?

Yes. Several are raised on their own wooden stands or carved bases, from small and medium bowls with stands to a bowl held in a carved wooden hand. Look for 'with stand' or 'carved' in the name.

Can I use them for fruit or food?

They are decorative bowls rather than tableware for direct food contact. They suit keys, jewellery, pebbles, pot pourri or display, and if you use a larger bowl for fruit, choose fruit you will wash or peel before eating.
