More about glass terrariums

There is something quietly grounding about a little greenery on the windowsill. Our Glass Terrariums collection is a new, plant-and-decor line that sits alongside our core recycled-glass-on-reclaimed-wood range, made for anyone who wants to bring living greenery indoors without the fuss of a full garden. Clear glass keeps every leaf, pebble and shoot in plain view, so the planting itself becomes the decoration.

The range falls into two families. The first is brass-framed geometric terrariums, where panes of clear glass are held in a slim brass frame: diamond, pentagon, octagon, cube and lantern shapes that read as gentle architecture on a shelf or table. The second is clear glass terrariums set on a turned tung wood base, in natural or dark finishes, ranging from mini through to extra-large. Several of these double as vases, so a piece can hold a planting one season and a few stems the next.

Across the seventeen pieces, the look stays calm and considered: glass, brass and timber, nothing louder than the plant it holds. They suit air plants, succulents, moss and cuttings, and look just as lovely styled with pebbles, sand or a single sculptural stone. Low maintenance by nature, they ask little of you beyond a bright spot and the occasional mist.

Who it is for

For new plant keepers who want a forgiving way to start, and for seasoned ones after a tidier home for trailing succulents or a moss garden. For renters and small spaces, where a terrarium brings biophilic calm to a desk, sill or shelf without taking over a room. And for gifting, since a clear glass terrarium is an easy yes for almost anyone who likes a little nature about the place. Please note that plants are not included, so you can choose your own to suit the light you have.

How to style it

The brass-framed geometric shapes look their best raised slightly, on a stack of books or a low plinth, where the angles catch the light. Try a single air plant in a diamond or octagon for a sparse, gallery feel, or layer fine sand and pebbles into a cube or lantern for a miniature landscape. The clear glass terrariums on tung wood bases are happy grouped in odd numbers, mixing mini and large for height, or left to stand alone as a quiet centrepiece. Choose the natural base for a soft, pale-wood look and the dark base for a little more contrast against bright foliage.

For low-effort planting, succulents and air plants are the kindest companions: a shallow bed of pebbles for drainage, a careful pinch of sand, and they largely look after themselves. Moss and cuttings reward a slightly more humid, shaded spot. And if you fancy a change, the pieces that double as vases will happily take a few cut stems instead.
