More about this collection

Candlelight through recycled glass is the whole point of this collection. Each holder is hand-blown and fused over reclaimed Balinese wood, from single tealight holders to low triple rows, so the flame catches in the glass and throws a warm, moving glow across the timber grain. No two are quite alike.

Choosing a recycled glass candle holder

One tealight: the single candle holder on wood (£11) holds one tealight in an aqua glass dish, an easy first piece and a small gift.
A row of three: the triple candle holder (£30) sets three tealights along one piece of wood, low enough for the middle of a dining table.
A stem and a flame: the vase and tealight holder (£16.95) pairs a bud vase with a tealight dish on one base. Keep the stem clear of the flame.

Tealights only

These holders are made for tealights in their cups. They are not for pillar candles, dinner candles or candle sand, which needs a heat-resistant bowl at least 10cm across. Stand them on a level surface away from curtains, dried flowers and anything that can catch light, let the glass cool before you touch it, and never leave a lit tealight unattended. Can I use a pillar or dinner candle in these holders?

No. They are made for tealights in their cups. For dinner candles, see the holders in our Christmas table collection.

Can I put candle sand in a glass candle holder?

No. Candle sand needs a stable, heat-resistant bowl at least 10cm across with at least 5cm of sand; see what to put candle sand in.

What candles do the holders take?

They are made for tealights only, with singles, doubles, triples and a five-well design. Each listing states what it holds and its approximate size.

How should I use the candle holders?

With tealights only. Keep the flame below the rim, never leave a burning candle unattended, and let the glass cool before touching or moving it.

How do I remove old wax?

Let the wax set fully, then lift or gently prise it out. Softening residue with warm (not boiling) water helps, keeping the wooden base dry throughout. Avoid soaking the piece.

Do they make good gifts?
