This is a small molten glass on wood bowl, a decorative dish where hand-blown recycled glass is fused over a piece of reclaimed Balinese wood and raised on its own carved stand.
Each bowl is made by hand. Molten recycled glass is poured and left to relax naturally over a section of reclaimed gamal wood, so it settles into the grain, knots and contours of the timber. The result is an organic, biophilic piece where no two are ever the same, a sustainable blend of salvaged glass and salvaged wood shaped almost entirely by the material itself.

Materials

Care
Hand wash only with warm water and a soft cloth, then dry straight away. Do not put any piece in the dishwasher, microwave or oven. Avoid soaking the wood or leaving it in standing water, and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour. A little food-safe oil now and then keeps the wood looking its best.
