This is a hand-blown recycled glass duck decanter fused over reclaimed Balinese wood, a sculptural molten glass on wood vessel that stands roughly 19cm tall and comes with a matching glass stopper.

Each decanter is made by relaxing molten recycled glass directly over a piece of reclaimed gamal wood, so the glass flows around the timber and sets into a fluid duck silhouette. Shaped by Balinese artisans using traditional hand tools, every piece follows the grain and contours of its own wood, which makes it genuinely one of a kind and a quietly sustainable choice for the home.

Features

  • Material: hand-blown recycled glass fused over reclaimed Balinese gamal wood.
  • Height: approximately 19cm tall, including the matching glass stopper.
  • Sculptural duck silhouette with a smooth glass vessel that can hold liquids, stems or simply catch the light.
  • Handmade and one of a kind: the wood grain, colour and glass contours vary from piece to piece.
  • Made by Balinese artisans in Indonesia using traditional hand tools.

Ways to style it

  • As a sculptural centrepiece on a dining table, sideboard or drinks trolley.
  • As a decanter or carafe for water, spirits or oils with the stopper in place.
  • As a single-stem bud vase for a flower or sprig of foliage.
  • As a standalone art object on a shelf, mantel or windowsill where the light can pass through the glass.
  • As a memorable gift for a housewarming, wedding or anyone who loves handmade, biophilic decor.

Good to know

Is each piece unique? Yes. Because the glass is shaped by hand over natural wood, no two decanters are identical in grain, tone or form.

Is it really recycled glass? Yes. The glass is recycled and hand-blown, then relaxed over reclaimed wood, so very little goes to waste.

How do I clean it? Rinse gently with warm water and a mild detergent, then dry by hand. Avoid the dishwasher and harsh abrasives, and keep prolonged water away from the exposed wood.

Why this piece is special

One of a kind, by design

Hand-blown from recycled glass, including rescued beer bottles, then fused over reclaimed Balinese gamal wood. Because each one is shaped by hand, the colour, grain and form vary a little, so no two are ever exactly alike. Yours is one of a kind.

  • Recycled glass Melted from rescued bottles, not made from new.
  • Reclaimed gamal wood Balinese hardwood given a second life. No two grains alike.
  • Hand-blown Shaped by skilled makers, never mass-produced.
  • One of a kind Made to order, so the piece you receive is unique.
