The wind-down candle. Pure Serenity is fragranced candle sand in a soft latte beige, its scent a calming spa blend: soothing lavandin, bergamot and neroli opening into orange blossom and fresh water notes, over a smooth base of tonka bean, orris and musk.
Pour the fine wax pearls into a stable, heat-resistant bowl at least 10cm across, at least 5cm deep, nestle in one of the cotton wicks and light. The sand melts in a neat pool around the flame, and once cool you lift out the hardened wax ring, smooth the surface and it is ready to light again.

How much do you need?
- A bowl about 10cm across: one 300g pouch fills it to the 5cm minimum depth, with one wick in the centre.
- A bowl about 16cm across: wide enough for three wicks, each 5cm from the sides and each other; expect to need two or more pouches.
- Bowls taper, so treat this as a rough guide: pour, check you have 5cm of sand with the top 2.5cm below the rim, and top up if needed.
Three or more pouches are 15% off, taken off automatically in your basket, so you can mix scents or layer colours.

Good to know
Is it really reusable? Yes. When the candle cools, remove the used wax around the wick, level the sand and place a fresh wick. The pouch keeps the remaining sand ready for next time.
What should I burn it in? A stable, heat-resistant bowl at least 10cm across, with at least 5cm of sand and every wick 5cm from the sides. Glass, ceramic and metal all work, and so does a thick wooden bowl on the same terms.

Candle sand must always be used in a suitable, stable, heat-resistant container and never left burning unattended.

Materials

Care
Always burn candle sand in a stable, heat-resistant bowl at least 10cm across, on a level surface. Pour at least 5cm of sand with the top 2.5cm below the rim, and keep every wick at least 5cm from the sides and from each other. Glass, ceramic and metal all work, and so does a thick wooden bowl on the same terms; small tealight holders are too tight. Burn for no more than four hours at a time, and never leave a burning candle unattended or within reach of children, pets or draughts. Reseal the pouch to keep unused sand clean and dry.
Dimensions
Each pouch holds 300g of candle sand, about enough to fill a bowl 10cm across to the 5cm depth a safe burn needs. Wider bowls take more, so a large centrepiece may need two pouches. Only the sand around the wick melts, so a pouch lasts far longer than it looks.
