This is a large molten glass on wood fish tank: a hand-blown recycled glass bowl fused to a reclaimed Balinese wood base, with a built-in cavity for a UK light fitting and LED bulb so the water and glass glow softly from within.
Each piece is made the traditional Balinese way. Recycled glass is hand-blown and, while still molten, relaxed over a piece of reclaimed gamal root so it hardens to the exact shape of the timber for a perfect, organic fit. The result is a biophilic, sustainable, one of a kind aquarium and display that no two of which are ever quite alike.

Materials

Care
Hand wash only with warm water and a soft cloth, then dry straight away. Do not put any piece in the dishwasher, microwave or oven. Avoid soaking the wood or leaving it in standing water, and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour. A little food-safe oil now and then keeps the wood looking its best.
